June 3rd, 2009


Town Hall
Attendees: Bill Hass, Michaela MacColl, Elaine Andersen, Barbara Jay, Mary Marquardt, Krista Mann.
The meeting was dominated by a discussion of jUNe Day. Michaela MacColl summarized progress to date. All restaurant  solicitations have been assigned. Bill, Barbara, Brock are part of the food committee.  Sports are going well – Brock is working with the soccer teams and tennis teams from the UN.

Bill has arranged golfing tee times.  Mary said that Earthplace is on board again. Michaela said that the Historical Society is happy to do their tour and the tour will end across the river at Bank of New York Mellon. We are going to replace our bottled waters with sports bottles that we will fill and refridgerate. Krista will play up our greening of jUNe Day.  She is handling publicity. Barbara is recruiting new volunteers and contacting old ones.  There was a discussion about First Selectman Joseloff inviting the Secretary General to june day. {After the meeting, Bill followed up. The invitation was proferred by the SG is already engaged. Michaela suggested that we do a formal invitation for next year, the 45th anniversary}
There will be an evening june day meeting on Monday June 15th at Michaela's house at 7:00.

NCIV Business:
Krista presented projects for consideration in the fall. We already have a program from Tajikhstan about transparency in government in October. Krista will express interest and report back to the committee. There is a regional NCIV conference and Krista expressed interest in going. We are going to see if NCIV will provide its usual grant.
The next committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:00 in Town Hall, Room 110.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00.
